Jehan Saleh Printmaking Studio is the first studio dedicated to
green printmaking in Bahrain, an innovative space in the Bahraini art scene.
She is the founder of the first group of women & kids printmakers in the region
“Bahrain Women Printmakers” in 2018, where this field is represented by
established male artists and considered to be a “man’s art” because of
the technical mastery and physical strength that are required. By
launching this platform, she has challenged the art scene by paving the
way to a wider platform of artists and art enthusiasts to practice art.

Since the beginning of her art career, Jehan showed interest in the
printmaking art techniques and she used it in many of her artworks
throughout the years. In 2018, she started offering workshops in the
heart of her own studio.

Since the soft opening of the studio in 2019, Jehan Saleh Printmaking
Studio has created opportunities for professional and emerging artists
and community members to learn printmaking processes, access the
equipment they need to make their work, and collect prints from
national, regional, and local artists.

Moving beyond the teaching of techniques, Jehan Saleh began to invite
seasoned printmakers, art historians and critics from different
countries, keen to develop her students’ theoretical and historical
understanding of the medium along with their technical skills.

Jehan’s commitment in the art community over the years has granted her
support from key representatives in the art scene.
